After the Applause: What Stayed With Us
Following the close of the Data Governance, AI Governance & MDM Conference Europe 2026, there is always a moment, just after a conference ends, when the noise settles.
The conversation quieted down. The slides close. The notebooks are full.
And what remains is something harder to describe.
This year, that feeling was captured perfectly by Kate Jenkinson, whose words stayed with many of us long after the sessions finished:
You might ask why poetry?
Well poetry connects us,
it’s like the data of our soul.
When we feel the words
our minds create,
poetry makes us whole.
Does this sound familiar?
If so, data is similar.
Over these two days
I’ve found that
when you feel the impact,
of data curated ethically,
holistically,
your work hums
with the harmony
that everyone hears.
It is not often that a data conference is distilled into poetry. But in many ways, it made perfect sense.
Because what we explored over these past days was not just frameworks, tooling, or governance models. It was a connection. Trust. Responsibility. And the growing realisation that data, when handled well, does not just inform decisions. It shapes experiences, outcomes, and lives. View all Kate’s conference poems here: Conference Poems

Until November
As Kate’s poem reminds us, data is not just something we manage. It is something we shape, and something that shapes us in return.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed, and made this event what it was.
We look forward to continuing the conversation in November.
