Charlene Blundell
Data Governance Manager
The Very Group
Charlene was introduced to Data Management principals and processes 8 years ago whilst working as an IT Disaster Recovery Analyst for a United Utilities. This was the start of her data journey, where she has been working in the Data Governance and Management field since 2017. In October 2021, Charlene joined The Very Group, a multi-brand online retailer and financial services provider across the UK and Ireland, where she manages the company’s data governance and management activities. Since joining TVG, Charlene has established a Data Governance Framework and is championing the culture change to support their data strategy in being data driven. In the last 12 months, Charlene and her team have successfully established a permanent Data Stewardship community across the organisation, something which had been a challenge for The Very Group and hadn’t fully taken hold prior to this. In addition to this, Charlene takes a lead on understanding The Very Groups regulations and works heavily with their Data Protection Office to ensure the company maintains compliance when it stores and processes personal data.
