To enter the DAMA UK Awards 2024 for the “Data Management Story of the Year” Award, please follow the steps outlined below to ensure your submission meets all the necessary requirements:

Submission Requirements:

  • Nominee Information:
    • Provide the name of the nominee.
    • Include the nominee’s company name.
    • Provide contact details for the nominee (email, phone number).
  • Nominator Information (if applicable):
    • If you are nominating someone else, include your name.
    • Provide your company name.
    • Provide your contact details (email, phone number).
  • Description of How the Nominee Meets the Criteria:
    • Write a detailed description explaining how the nominee meets the award criteria. Focus on:
      • Success Achieved: Outline the specific successes the nominee has accomplished in the field of data management.
      • Value Delivered: Describe the value these successes have brought to the nominee’s organisation or the wider data management community.
      • Recognition of Achievement: Highlight how the nominee’s organisation has acknowledged their contributions and achievements.

Slide Deck Providing Evidence:

Prepare a 4-5 slide deck that provides supporting evidence of the nominee’s achievements. The slides should:

  • What was the issue/ problem/ requirement?
  • What challenges/ barriers did you face and how did you overcome them? 
  • Showcase specific examples of success.
  • Demonstrate the impact and value of the nominee’s work.
  • Include any recognition or awards received within the organisation for their data management efforts.

Telling the Data Management Story:

DAMA UK is looking to recognise great data management practitioners for 2024. Do you have a story to tell? Have you met a data challenge this year? What is it and what made you choose this challenge? We are looking forward to hearing your story!!

Don't forget to tell us:

  • What success you had and how?
  • What value was delivered and to who?
  • How this was recognised in your organisation or broader?

And finally, why is this story the one that should win the "DAMA UK Data Management Story of the Year 2024"

Important:

  • Closing Date: Ensure that all submissions are completed and submitted by 20 September 2024. 

Finalists and Winner Announcement:

  • Finalists will be invited to the Data, AI & Analytics Conference Europe 2024 in London, where the winner will be announced on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.

Prizes

  • DAMA UK Membership: The winner will receive a 1-year DAMA UK membership (either new or renewed) and a copy of the DAMA DMBOK 2.
  • Webinar Presentation: The winner and runners-up will be requested to share their data management story in a DAMA UK webinar in 2025.

Submit your completed entry with all required information and supporting materials to the DAMA UK Awards 2024 submission portal by the deadline. Ensure that your submission is clear, concise, and well-organised to make a compelling case for why the nominee deserves the “Data Management Story of the Year” Award.

IRM UK is pleased to announce that submissions are invited for the 2024 DAMA UK Practitioner Awards.

Submission Deadline is Friday 20 September 2024

Only one nomination per organisation.

The award is given to the practitioners within a customer organisation (i.e. company/corporation, government agency or non-profit, as opposed to a software vendor or consulting company) in recognition of the business value and technical excellence they have achieved in the design and implementation of an outstanding data governance programme.

Each submission is judged on the following criteria
1. Approach used to design, develop and implement the program.
2. Business need(s) being addressed.
3. Scope and depth of the Data Governance Programme as well as program longevity.
4. DG defined roles and responsibilities.
5. Program metrics and business value provided.

Submission Details

• Submissions are due by 20th September 2024. Only one nomination per organisation.
• Submissions must be made in PowerPoint, no more than 5 slides.
• All submissions become the property of IRM UK and may be used in part or full for promotional and/or educational purposes.
• We will honour specific confidentiality requests and refrain from making certain information public, however confidential information must be specifically identified and limited to no more than 15% of the overall submission.
• There will be no deadline extensions given to submitting organisations.
• Finalists will be notified in late September. All finalists will receive a free 2-day Conference ticket. The winner will be announced and the award will be formally presented at the 2024 Data & AI Conference Europe. The winner will be invited to present a case study in person of their data governance programme at a future IRM UK Data Conference.
