After 23 years with NFU Mutual, my journey has been anything but linear—and that’s exactly what’s made it so rewarding. I began my career on the Financial Services side of the business, but as my curiosity for technology and transformation grew, I found myself drawn to the world of IT. Since then, I’ve worn many hats: Tester, Test Manager, Release Co-ordinator, Business Analyst, BA Manager, and now, I lead the Business Analysis Service.

One of the most enriching chapters of my career came in 2021, when I took a year-long career break to pursue a personal passion—health and wellbeing. I joined the NHS as a Health and Wellbeing Coach, an experience that not only broadened my perspective but also deepened my appreciation for the human side of change. Returning to NFU Mutual, I brought that renewed energy into my role as BA Service Manager.

Recognising the potential of a Community of Practice, I set out to build a culture that empowers our BA team and enhances the service we offer across the business. I’m excited to share our journey at the conference and to learn from others—because great ideas are meant to be shared and shaped together.

Another passion of mine is nurturing new talent. Our BA Apprenticeship scheme has been a real success story—we’ve supported 17 apprentices through the programme, and I’m thrilled that four of them will be joining me at the conference. On a personal note, I’m a proud Stratford-upon-Avon local—still living and working in the town where I was born. It’s a beautiful place (even if it is a bit too far from the sea!). I’m also a mum to two teenagers who keep me grounded—my daughter has just finished her GCSEs and dreams of studying zoology, while my son is gearing up for his own exams next year and still figuring things out. Aren’t we all, sometimes?
