
Hemal Shah
Hemal leads Moody’s Master Data Management and Banking Transformation practice globally, focusing on the Banking and Financial Services sector. Based in London, Hemal has over two decades of experience in Data Management, specializing in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Regulatory Change, Operational Resilience, and Data Technology.
Hemal has held senior leadership roles in Banking, including most recently the Global Head of Data Management and Operational Resilience at a Tier 1 Bank. He built an international data organization with teams in Singapore, India, UAE, Hong Kong, and London, expanding the data office to over 300 people globally. Hemal also led data quality consultations with worldwide regulators and conducted third-party due diligence assessments on data providers.
Throughout his career, Hemal has helped major financial institutions build their Data Management, Regulatory Change, and Operational Risk and Resilience programs. He holds a Financial accreditation in Financial Regulation from the Securities and Investment Institute and a degree in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE).
