State of Analytics in the Age of AI

AI can produce a report in seconds. But can your business trust it?

Behind every reliable answer are trusted metrics, clear definitions and people who understand what the data means. As AI becomes part of everyday analytics, organisations need to decide what to build on, what to simplify and where to invest.

IRM UK is partnering with Accton, alongside Clinch Data Services and DAMA UK, to bring you State of Analytics in the Age of AI. This free virtual summit brings together data, analytics, BI and AI professionals to explore these decisions through practical experience and discussion.

Thursday 22 October 2026 | 14:00–18:00 BST / 09:00–13:00 EDT | Online | Free to attend

Introducing AI into analytics raises questions that technology alone cannot answer. Do teams share the same understanding of their metrics? Can leaders trust the outputs they receive? And how can organisations make better use of their existing investment in BI and analytics?

Curated and chaired by Ben Clinch, Founder of Clinch Data Services, the summit brings together three practitioner sessions, live Q&A and a panel discussion.

The programme will explore three connected challenges:

▸ Trust: What does it take to produce AI outputs you can confidently put in front of a board?

▸ Investment: Which parts of your existing BI and analytics estate should you retain, improve or retire?

▸ People: How do you make data quality and governance work in everyday decisions?

Simone Steel: Rethinking Analytics

Simone Steel, CIO for Data and AI at Deutsche Bank Corporate Bank, will present “Rethinking Analytics: In a data world, where is your map?”

How useful can analytics be without a shared understanding of the situation being analysed?

Simone will explore situation awareness: building a common map of the business or problem, understanding what data is available and connecting information across domains.

As AI assistants and agents change how people interact with data, her session will consider how analytics can help organisations discover both the answers they need and the questions they did not know to ask.

Dr Herbert Prickarz, Member of the Business Chief Digital Office BBM (M/BD2) at Bosch, will present “Making Data, Analytics & AI Work for People: Enabling Data Excellence at Bosch Mobility.”

Herbert will share lessons from developing a data stewardship community and enabling leaders to work more effectively with data.

He will explain how analytics helps evaluate and continuously improve these programmes, including what worked, what did not and what the data revealed along the way.

The session will also explore why data quality, management and governance remain essential foundations for analytics and AI.

Johanna Kruckenberg-Turen, a former data and AI leader at H&M Group and Handelsbanken, will present “Building the Human Infrastructure Behind Data Governance.”

Her session will explore concrete ways to make governance an everyday enabler across an organisation, with steps attendees can put into practice immediately.

For professionals working to turn governance principles into everyday habits, this offers an opportunity to consider the people and organisational foundations that support lasting change.

Glen Armashula, Head of Growth at Accton, will add a fourth expert perspective to the afternoon’s discussion.

Live Q&A and a panel discussion will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions, hear different viewpoints and consider what these lessons mean for their own organisations.

Whether you are reviewing your analytics investment, building data capability or strengthening governance, the summit offers practical perspectives to help inform your next decisions.

Decide what AI does for your analytics before it decides for you.
