Outstanding Service Design Initiative Award 2025

Only one nomination per organisation.

The award is given to the practitioners within a customer organisation (i.e. company/corporation, government agency or non-profit, as opposed to a software vendor or consulting company) in recognition of the business value and technical excellence they have achieved in the design and implementation of an outstanding Service Design Initiative. 

Each submission is judged on the following criteria:

  • Clarity of Submission: Well-articulated responses with clear and concise information.
  • Innovation: Introduction of novel ideas or significant enhancements
  • Impact: Evidence of tangible and measurable results.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
  • Sustainability: Long-term viability and scalability of the initiative.

Submission Details

What service design challenge or opportunity did your initiative address? Please describe the objectives, scope, and context of the work.
How did you involve users, staff, or stakeholders in the discovery and design process? What insights did you gather, and how did they shape your approach?
What service design tools, frameworks, or methods did you use? What innovative or creative approaches were introduced during the project?
What tangible improvements were achieved (e.g., user experience, service efficiency, accessibility)? Please include any metrics, user feedback, or qualitative evidence of success.
How is the new service or experience being sustained or improved over time? What challenges did you encounter, and what lessons could others learn from your experience?

Submission Details

• Submissions are due by the 9th May 2025. Only one nomination per organisation.
• All submissions become the property of IRM UK and may be used in part or full for promotional and/or educational purposes.
• We will honour specific confidentiality requests and refrain from making certain information public, however confidential information must be specifically identified and limited to no more than 15% of the overall submission.
• There will be no deadline extensions given to submitting organisations.
• Finalists will be notified in mid-May 2025. All finalists will receive a free 2-day Conference ticket. The winner will be announced and the award will be formally presented at the 2025 Service Design Conference Europe. The winner will be invited to present a case study in person at a future IRM UK Conference.
