Presentation proposals are now being accepted for our co-located conferences Business Intelligence & Analytics Conference Europe 2017 and Enterprise Data Conference Europe 2017, taking place at the Radisson Blu Portman, 20-23 November 2017, London, UK.
Business Intelligence & Analytics Conference Europe 2017
The deadline to submit your speaking proposal has been extended to 12 May 2017.
This conference offering a diverse range of experienced speakers who will provide a broad, practical perspective on Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Science, Data Management, Data Warehousing and Big Data. It will offer unparalleled opportunities for networking and discussion of the latest issues.
Do you or any of your team have a formal presentation to contribute to these events? All selected speakers will be entitled to attend the first three days of the events free of charge. You are more than welcome to submit a number of proposals and these can be submitted across the two conferences.
We are looking for proposals for conference sessions, full-day & half-day workshops and keynotes.
The Business Intelligence & Analytics Conference Europe is one of the leading independent conferences on these topics in Europe. The upcoming 2017 edition is aimed at all aspects of business intelligence, analytics and data warehousing, including big data, self-service analytics, data science, predictive analytics, data visualisation, fast data and operational intelligence. It will address new evolving technologies and solutions, such as Hadoop, Spark, BI in the Cloud, Kafka, data lakes and the logical data warehouse. Best practices, design guidelines, do’s and don’ts, product overviews, and comparison are presented. All the previous fifteen editions have been a big success, with an average of 200+ delegates. Evaluations keep showing that the delegates are very pleased with the selected speakers, topics and setup of this annual conference.
With this year’s call for presentations we are trying to attract proposals for sessions on traditional and future data warehousing, business intelligence, big data and analytical aspects. Delegates have expressed a preference for how-to topics and case studies rather than theoretical or abstract topics. We would particularly like practitioners in the field to respond to this call for papers and talk. We encourage new speakers to apply. Success stories – case studies where business intelligence, analytics, data warehousing and big data have produced real bottom-line benefits are very much appreciated.

Please note these are examples of some of the areas that we are looking to cover, so please do submit a paper even if it doesn’t fall within these topics.

Please read these guidelines carefully before you make your submission, and ensure it reaches us by 12 May 2017.
We are looking for:
a) 50-60 minute conference sessions
b) Pre- and Post-conference workshops (3 hours or 6 hours)
We expect to receive a large number of submissions for this conference, and take a wide range of factors into account in making selections, including the need to provide a balanced programme. A shortlist of the most promising abstracts is sent to a programme committee for revue before a final decision is made.
Please submit your abstract directly on our website using the submission form below. You may submit more than one abstract.
Your abstract should keep strictly to the limit of 150 words, clearly outlining your content plus 3 bullet points at the end to summarise your key messages as to what delegates will learn.
Bear in mind that your abstract needs to be sufficiently polished for inclusion in the conference brochure and must achieve the following objectives:
- Provide enough information for us to evaluate your submission relative to others. To aid the evaluation you can include additional relevant information in section 3C of the submission form.
- Be attractive to conference attendees and help them to select the sessions most valuable to them, given their interests and level of maturity in the subject matter.
Based on previous conference feedback and programme assessments, here are some tips to help you maximise your chances of being selected.
- Be specific and concrete about what you will be presenting and how the audience will benefit from it. Use the bullet points to highlight the key ‘takeaways’.
- Demonstrate real-world achievements, showing examples of content if possible, and describing outcomes from applying it.
- Push the envelope. Aim to stretch the audience with fresh insights and the benefit of your own experience. Or present a topic that would fully engage people at the CIO level.
- Ensure that your presentation is really relevant to this conference. If your talk majors on a specialised topic (e.g. EA, information architecture or software), you should position it clearly in the overall conference theme.
- ‘Pitching’ specific products.
- Exceeding the word count limit.
- Trying to cover too much ground in the time available.
- Putting forward unsubstantiated theories or opinions.
- Using vague abstractions and jargon.
If you have presented recently at other conference on similar subject matter, we suggest that you use section 3C of the submission form to indicate how this presentation is different from what you have presented before.

Please note that abstracts which are longer than the specified length may be shortlisted, but will be edited down by us to fit the brochure and presented back to you for approval.
You will be notified whether your submission has been accepted by the end of May 2017.
