For Keeps? Managing Data Retention Strategies
Speaker: Sam Gillespie
Overview
As organizations become more data-driven, one of their biggest privacy, security, and governance challenges is data retention. How long an organization can (or must) retain data is dependent on many different factors, including privacy regulations, data governance principles, country, and business function-specific requirements, and internal policies. Determining which requirements apply to what data, which takes precedent, and how compliance with retention policies may affect down-stream business functions is not scalable as a manual process.
In this session we’ll discuss:
• How to track and to document both external data retention requirements and internal policies
• Integrating automated retention tracking into your data catalogue
• Automating retention analysis and remediation actions
