Developing Your Communication and Presentation Skills
Speaker: David Beckham
Overview
Join David Beckham as he discusses presentation and communication skills; two topics that are essential and invaluable for all change professionals and business analysts. These ‘soft’ or ’people’ skills are frequently overlooked but are a vital addition to everyone’s skillset. David will discuss the challenges involved in all types of communication, highlighting how difficult it can be to get your message across so that people understand and accept it. He will also explain how the techniques used for presenting at large conferences can just as easily be deployed in a meeting between three or four people. Presentation techniques such as planning, preparation and managing nerves can be applied to any interaction and therefore are vital to anybody who runs meetings or interacts with colleagues on a regular basis. David will also discuss some of the techniques he uses regarding creativity, particularly how he constructs his own style of presentations and will also touch on the process of preparing a presentation and the emotional journey this can provoke! The session will conclude with an opportunity for discussion and questions so please be prepared to contribute!
