Overview
Part of the Data Ed Week Europe
As the adoption of cloud computing continues to grow, we are now at the point where many companies may have deployed operational transaction processing applications both on-premises and in one or more clouds. Analytical systems are also running in the cloud including data warehouses, cloud based Hadoop systems, streaming analytics platforms and NoSQL Graph databases. With corporate data now either side of the firewall, there a growing demand to seamlessly manage and govern it consistently across data centres and multiple clouds.
This session looks in detail at the challenge of consistently managing data in a hybrid multi-cloud environment and looks at what is needed to keep cloud and on-premises systems integrated while maintaining data integrity. In particular it looks at data capture, operational data flows, analytical data flows data flows and governance in a hybrid computing environment.

Learning Objectives
- To understand how to manage transaction data and operational process data flows in a hybrid and multi-cloud computing environment
- To understand how to manage ETL processing and self-service data preparation in a distributed environment to avoid silos, share metadata and facilitate multi-platform analytics
- To understand how you can systematically govern data in a hybrid and multi-cloud computing environment by defining policies once and enforcing them everywhere
- To understand how to manage master data across on-premises data centres and one or more clouds
- To understand the technology options to help you managing data in a hybrid and multi-cloud computing environment together with their pros and cons
- To understand the critical importance of data catalogs in discovering what data you have on-premises and in multiple clouds
- To understand how you can simplify access to multiple data stores both on-premises and in multiple clouds
